Programmes and Activities

• Marriage preparation
  Facilitating couples to be married with the practical and logistical preparations for their wedding in SVDP.
  
  The wedding preparation team helps couples getting married in church with their rehearsals and advises couples on mass proceedings if needed. Rehearsals are conducted 7-10 days before the wedding on weeknights.
  
  We welcome any married couples familiar with proceedings at wedding masses to volunteer as a team in our group.
  
  
• Infant baptism
  Conducting courses to prepare parents and godparents for their children’s baptism and instructing them in their roles in bringing up their children in the Catholic faith.
  
  The team runs the infant baptism preparatory course bi-monthly (on the 2nd Sunday of Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep & Nov) followed by the infant baptism service itself the following 3rd Sunday of that month. The team explains to parents why we baptise our babies and the meaning of the Sacrament of Baptism along with the symbols used at the baptism itself. We run through with the parents and godparents the whole process of the baptism service.
  
  We are looking for married couples with some years of experience raising children since we also share with the new parents some parenthood experience.
  
  
• Wedding anniversaries
  Distributing wedding anniversary certificates signed by our parish priests to couples celebrating their wedding anniversaries, on the last Sunday of each month at the 11am family mass.
