“All who believed were together and had all things in common;they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.” -Acts 2: 44-45
Parishioners get a taste of community life and the communal sharing of goods simply by making their way down to the Thrift Shop, which is located on the 2ndfloor (behind Father Saussard’s Café) on the 1stand 3rdSundays of the month, from 8.15am-noon
Donations are welcome!
The Thrift Shop encourages a spirit of intentional giving within the Parish, and an awareness and sensitivity to those amongst us who are less privileged.
By emphasising the need for only functioning, good quality products that are free from wear and tear, missing and/or broken parts, the ministry communicates the importance of serving the less fortunate with excellence and responsibility.
Always something for everyone!
The items available range from books, electronics, household items, shoes, bags and clothes. The Thrift Shop also sells religious items like statues, sculptures and paintings donated with love by our parishioners. Members of the ministry believe in serving parishioners with warmth, Christian hospitality and smiles, all of which create a lively atmosphere that welcomes people, allowing them to browse through books or peruse items with ease.
Be part of Thrift Shop ministry!
Those who serve in the Thrift Shop minister to the body of Christ by raising funds that help build and sustain the Parish of SVDP.
Apart from sale days on Sunday, they meet on Wednesdays from 11am to sort through and arrange donated items.
The Thrift Shop ministry welcomes all with a heart for organisation, who can help sort, clean, package and arrange donated items as part of service to the poor and the church.
