“Let us remember that we are in the Holy Presence of God”.
We say this before every lesson in SJI. Although I have since accepted Jesus as a Protestant, I crave to be more aware of His Presence in my life.
It was only after I returned to SJI as a teacher, that I felt the Holy Presence of God during the Eucharistic consecration in the SJI Chapel. I felt that surge of peace and an urge to find out more about the Catholic faith.
That led me to join SVDP’s RCIA. It has been a wonderful experience finding out more about God, and the Catholic faith. Sometimes in life, the more you find out about something, the more questions you have. In RCIA, it is the other way round. The more I learn about the Catholic faith, the more convinced I am on the right track.
I have been looking forward to Confirmation and receiving Jesus in the Eucharist. However the Circuit Breaker measures came in just after our First Scrutiny. I was naturally disappointed, but I guess this only makes us crave more for Him and strengthen our resolve.
I am grateful for the weekly RCIA zoom sessions which continue to ground us with rosary sessions and bible discussions. There is also that familiar sense of community built over the past year which I’m thankful for. That said, I do look forward to the resumption of Masses. Till then, we shall continue to trust in the Lord!
