“Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place, For now I have chosen and consecrated this house so that my name may be there forever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time.” – 2 Chronicles 7:15–16
A blessing of a new house is a joyful event, and an occasion to celebrate and give thanks to God for his providence and faithfulness to us. During the house blessing, the priest prays for God’s continued love and protection over the household.
“I will bless every place in which an image of my Heart is exposed and honoured.” Jesus to St. Margaret Mary
Homeowners may also choose to use this opportunity to enthrone their families to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This act of publicly placing an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a prominent place of the house is to spiritually place God on a throne and to recognise his authority over us as Christ the King, and to invite him to continue to reign as the head of the House.
To have your house blessed please email the Parish office (secretariat@svdp.sg) with your requested date and details.
