HAVEN: Come away to Haven

Bring a friend – For where two or three are gathered, there I am! #DontSayBoJio

Not just a recollection, not just a program. This is a holy pause—a sacred breather in the middle of our busy lives. Set in the heart of our parish, Haven is a spiritual refuge where the family of God, in all its beautiful diversity—single, married, young, old, empty-nesters, single-parents – gathers to rest, reflect, rejoice, and reimagine prayer as a way of life.
Rooted in the parish’s twin pillars of Prayer and Family, Haven offers a joyful, grace-filled rhythm of sharing, singing, silence, scripture, and story. It celebrates and acknowledges the many sacred pathways of prayer – some walk in nature, others kneel before the Blessed Sacrament; some pray in tongues, others in tears; some in song, others in silence. Whatever our prayer-ference, all are invited.
Prayer is not just what we do. It is who we are becoming – people attuned to the eternal conversation between the Father and the Son in us, through the whispering presence of the Holy Spirit.
As we mature in prayer, we move beyond petition or simply declaring, “Lord, this is my will,” and we also begin to grow out of only asking, “Lord, what is Your will?” Instead, we enter a deeper intimacy—a place of discernment with God, where we begin to pray: “Lord, what is our will?”
We bring to God the real questions of life:
- What should I study or pursue with my gifts?
- Who am I called to journey with in love and covenant?
- How can I raise my family in a way that leads us to heaven?
- How do I carry out my work—both paid and unseen household labour—with love, virtue, and eternal meaning?
- How can I help nurture a stronger sense of community in my parish haven?
These aren’t just decisions to be made; they are invitations to co-create a life aligned with God’s dream for the world—one rooted in grace, fidelity, and the ongoing conversation of the Holy Spirit.)
