Understanding Same Sex Attraction – A Zoom Conference

Understanding Same Sex Attraction – A Zoom Conference

How would you respond if your child or catechumen or friend says, “I think I am gay”?

Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) is often poorly understood, leading to responses which may be inconsistent with our faith beliefs or which are inappropriate and could damage the relationship.

This short symposium will promote greater awareness and clearer understanding of SSA, so that more positive relationships can be built. Participants will find out what research currently tells us about SSA, and hear from professionals who have experience working in this area.

This symposium aims to help participants develop a deeper understanding of same-sex attraction in the light of faith and reason, and to address common misconceptions. The speakers and organizers seek to be faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church and to welcome and show understanding to persons with SSA. In this light, all who are open to hearing and learning more about SSA will greatly benefit and are most welcome.

Date: Sat 18 Apr 2020
Time: 9.00 am to 1.00 pm
Venue: via Zoom video-conferencing software
